Are Real Estate Prices Negotiable?

Yes, real estate prices are negotiable, and it’s always best to go through an experienced agent to aid in the purchase or sale of the home. Analogous to having an experienced lawyer before entering the courtroom, the agent will help to guide you through the deal and any issues that may arise. Negotiations may also become fairly complicated (what stays in the home, timelines, earnest money, types of lending and how that affects the sale of the home, inspections, navigating multiple offers) to name a few.

The current market and demand of the home will always determine how much flexibility there is for negotiation. A buyer’s market favors the buyer (generally buyers have more leverage), whereas a seller’s market favors the seller.
